We Need Your Help

Arkwright Engineering Scholarships are designed for high performing 16-to-18-year-old students who have demonstrated a propensity for a career in engineering and its related sectors. Our students work through the Scholarships with our invaluable industry partners, to not only give them insight and first-hand experience of what a career in engineering is like, but also the training and guidance necessary to enter into such careers.

The results speak for themselves! Since 1991 we have awarded over 5,000 Scholarships. We actively encourage more females to take up engineering and in 2019, 30 per cent of our scholars were female. 92 per cent of Scholars go on to university or higher-level apprenticeships in engineering. Our 28-year track record means that an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship is the most prestigious of its type in the UK and is widely respected by university admissions tutors and industry recruiters.

To maintain the success of these Arkwright Scholarships we rely on the time and skills of our amazing industry partners. However, the Scholars also rely on the generosity of donors to enable their Scholarships; costs which include travel to on-site training events and accommodation.

As you can imagine, due to the ongoing pandemic, we have never been in greater need of receiving funding for this year’s scholarship intake to ensure we are able to fully and effectively support them.

This funding is particularly vital for us to be able to offer the scholarships to students from all areas of society including those from low-socioeconomic status households. As we look ahead to long-term development and economic recovery post Covid-19, we must work together and nurture future talent now to make sure we have a strong cohort of engineers in the future.

We would therefore ask you to consider joining us in backing these incredible Arkwright Scholarships, knowing you will be helping today’s students embark on a career in engineering and in turn, addressing the country’s need for two million more engineers by 2025.

We do hope you will appreciate the value that these scholarships offer to society and help us to continue our great work by donating £2200 to fund a scholarship. To find out more about sponsoring a scholarship please click the link below.
