Congratulations to our 415 brilliant new Scholars who were recently awarded their Arkwright Engineering Scholarships at our annual Award Ceremonies.

The culmination of a year’s hard work; ceremonies in October and November saw the 2019 cohort celebrated at the Institution of Engineering and Technology in London and the International Conference Centre in Edinburgh.

The theme this year celebrated women in engineering and was supported by 3 Arkwright alumni and 5 guest speakers from our fantastic sponsors - Arm, BAM Nuttall, BuroHappold, The RAF and Team Tempest.

Of the 415 Scholars awarded, a record 31% were female; given the theme, it is great to see such an increase in this figure.

Our guests spoke with such heartfelt passion and were truly inspiring; any preconceived stereotypes were shattered as they focused on the vital role that women play in transforming the world around us through engineering; it really was an incredibly enjoyable few days.
