Scholars Take Part in Global Deutsche Bank Hackathon

Eight Arkwright Scholars joined teams of Deutsche Bank technical staff in London to compete against Deutsche Bank IT employees across the world in a 24-hour global staff hackathon to develop a new app for use by Deutsche Bank to consolidate its internal training systems.

Scholars Visit RenaultSport Formula 1 Technical Centre

In early July, a group of 24 Scholars were shown around the RenaultSport Whiteways Technical Centre by Arkwright Alumnus, and RenaultSport employee, Andrew Shedden.

Arkwright Liaison Officer Honoured with Freedom of the City of London

The Arkwright Schools' Liaison Officer for North West London and Hertfordshire, Mr John Coleman, was recently made a Freeman of the Merchant Taylors' Company and bestowed with the honour of becoming a Freeman of the City of London.

Arkwright Scholar and Alumnae in Top 50 Female Engineers Under the Age of 35

The Daily Telegraph and the Women’s Engineering Society recently announced the “Top 50 Women in Engineering Aged Under 35”. We are delighted to say that two of these acclaimed engineers are Arkwright Scholarship alumnae, and one is a current Arkwright Scholar.

Arkwright Trustee Honoured

Peter Blair, recently-retired Trustee of the Arkwright Scholarships Trust, has just been made an Honorary Vice-President of the Radio Society of Great Britain, partly in recognition of his educational work through the Arkwright Scholarships Trusts and The Smallpeice Trust.

Design & Technology Awards

The Design & Technology Association held its annual Teacher Awards in London on 24 March. Teachers from seven Arkwright-affiliated schools were honoured.
