Sponsors - How to support your Scholar
- After notification of your Scholar(s) is sent to you, please make contact by email, letter or telephone to set the scene for the partnership to develop
- If possible arrange to meet prior to the Awards Day to discuss possible work experience, support for the A Level/Scottish Higher project work and career guidance
- Please ensure a representative from the company is able to attend the Awards Ceremony at which you will meet your Scholar(s), his/her parents, and the representative from the School. Arkwright holds two Ceremonies each autumn: one in London and one in Glasgow. At the event alloted to your Scholar(s) he/she will receive his/her first year cheque and certificate. The company will also receive a certificate
- After the event, please encourage your Scholar(s) to contact you if help and guidance is needed
- Where practicable, please seek an early-career engineer or designer amongst your employees who can mentor your Scholar(s)
- Where practicable, please offer your Scholar(s) a visit to you premises and/or vacation work experience
- Send your Scholar(s) any recruitment opportunities/sponsorship opportunities within your Company and any external opportunities you are aware of.
