Arkwright supporters raise funds through 100-mile cycle challenge

7 August 2016

Earlier in the year two people  bravely volunteered to raise funds for Arkwright by tackling the 2016 Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 cycle challenge. They were:

  • Arkwright Alumnus Mark Wrightson (Arkwright Engineering Scholar 2004 - 2006, sponsored by the Worshipful Company of Salters)
  • Stuart McCain, Head of Department - Design Technology Innovation at Arkwright-affiliated Colchester Royal Grammar School

In August the time came to put their training to the test in this gruelling 100-mile charity bike ride based around the 2012 London Olympics road-race route. Stuart made an impressive time of 4 hours 55 minutes and Mark was not far behind on 5 hours and 13 minutes. Both Mark and Stuart thoroughly enjoyed the event but were relieved to finally reach the finish line!

We would like to thank Stuart and Mark for their efforts which raised £1,147!
