From midday on 13 July to midday on 14 July, eight Arkwright Scholars joined teams of Deutsche Bank's technical staff in London to compete against Deutsche Bank IT employees across the world in a 24-hour global staff hackathon to develop a new app for use by Deutsche Bank to consolidate its internal training systems.

Arkwright Scholars were some of a select few 'outsiders' invited in to take part in this annual Deutsche Bank internal staff event. The eight Scholars, together with representatives of STEMettes, were each assigned to an existing staff team and took a full and active role in developing possible solutions to the event brief: to design an app that could consolidate the disparate training systems used within Deutsche Bank into one easy-to-use system.
