Scholar wins full Scholarship to New York University Abu Dhabi

7 January 2017

The reputation of Arkwright Engineering Scholars continues to spread globally. Scholar Qutaiba Al-Nuaimy not only recently secured a place to study engineering at New York University's Abu Dhabi Campus but he has just received the news that he has secured a US$ 320,000 Scholarship (£260,000) to cover all costs associated with his four-year degree!

Qutaiba attends Liverpool College, where he will be taking his A levels in summer 2017 and his Arkwright Engineering Scholarship is funded by The Reece Foundation.

The engineering degree programme at New York University Abu Dhabi takes a uniquely global perspective to the engineering profession and actively solicits the very best engineering students from around the world. Qutaiba was therefore up against stiff competition in his application both for a place on the course and for the undergraduate scholarship.

The news about the undergraduate scholarship came after Qutaiba joined other confirmed engineering students, and met University staff, on a weekend study visit to the Abu Dhabi campus.

Qutaiba said: "I owe it all to the drive, passion, confidence and focus that the Arkwright Scholarship has distilled within me, and for that I am hugely grateful".

Mikael Perreau, New York University's Assistant Director of Admissions ran two workshops for Arkwright Scholars in London during 2016 to brief them on the US university admission process. Mikael said: "I've had the pleasure of meeting Qutaiba several times, and have found him to be a perfect fit for NYU Abu Dhabi. I have no doubt that he will make the most of the opportunities given to him, and look forward to seeing him on campus in the fall!"
