Making a donation to The Arkwright Scholarships Trust
There are many different ways in which companies and individuals can contribute to the work of the Arkwright Scholarships Trust. These include:
- Sponsoring an Arkwright Scholar – Scholarships are £2000 spread over two years and will help fund an aspiring young engineer during their 6th form studies.
- Making a single gift either on-line with a credit card*, or if you prefer to make a donation by post, please download a Pledge Form [pdf] and send it off to us along with your cheque.
- Gifts of shares, with capital gains and income tax relief for the donor (contact your Adviser or Stockbroker to find out more).
- Leaving a gift to the Arkwright Scholarships Trust in your Will.
* This will incur a credit card surcharge
Whichever option you choose, you will not only be securing your personal relationship with Arkwright, but you will be helping to ensure a future supply of talented young engineers able to contribute towards a healthy engineering sector in the UK.
As a registered charity, Arkwright can reclaim the tax back from your personal donation, so long as you are a British taxpayer. Currently we can reclaim 28p for every £1 you donate. If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can also reclaim a further 25p for every £1 you donate from HM Customs and Revenue when you complete your annual tax return and you can choose to donate any refunded tax to Arkwright too. Just quote GAQ61EG.
Companies can also claim Corporation Tax Relief on their donation to a charity through their corporation tax return.
Our new Fundraising Brochure is available online. If you would like a copy to be sent to you in the post please email Georgina Hare.
