Our Vital Support Workers
D&T Working Group
The group consists of current Heads of Design & Technology and Technological Studies who, with the full backing of their Headteachers, provide the backbone of the rigorous Arkwright selection process.
The group consists of:
- John Coleman, Merchant Taylors' School Northwood
- David Dunn, Yarm School
- Bob Johnstone, Whitgift School
- Tessa O'Shea, Wimbledon High School
- Barry Whiteley, Falkirk High School
With their expertise in the field of Design & Technology and Technological Studies across the country they set the Aptitude Paper, mark the candidates' scripts and assist with the interviewing of shortlisted candidates. The Group provides advice on the developments in Design and Technology and the curriculum to ensure that Arkwright is providing affiliated Schools with a scheme which supports their needs..
Volunteers
Each year over 120 volunteers join the interviewing panels at universities across the country to interview Arkwright candidates. These volunteers come from our member schools, sponsoring companies, host universities and our alumni. Without their vital contribution Arkwright would not be able to function.
If you would like to assist with the interviewing of potential Arkwright Scholars, please contact the Administration Manager at Arkwright HQ.
